What's a tamawo?
Tamawo hail from Bisaya Island, a remote island near the Ruby Sea.
They are yokai-like creatures that are similar to Moogles in that they can turn invisible but can glamour into different forms.
A philtrum, or midline groove in the upper lip that runs from the top of the lip to the nose,
is not visible on tamawo.
What's a civet?
Civets are also native to Bisaya Island and are similar to Miqo'te. A defining feature is the darkened band around their eyes, just like a raccoon or tanuki.
Their strong musk can either be pleasant or repulsive depending on the person.
Tamawo always have flowers and rocks at their disposal. Sunny likes to throw them at people!
As an avid entertainer, she loves sharing small poems with people.
Though she grew up sheltered, she is looking to teach everyone love and kindness.
Sunny was raised as a binukot, meaning "veiled" in the language of Bisaya Island. It's an island tradition of secluding young maidens to gain cultural prestige and to be of higher value to future marital suitors.
Binukot are well versed in oral lore and dancing.
She is frail and fair-skinned as a result of being shielded from the sun and hard labor. To this day, she prefers to stay indoors and carries an umbrella against the sun's rays.
While she was born as a civet, she was made into a tamawo. When an existing tamawo kidnaps a child and the child eats their cooking, the child turns into a tamawo.
